Three people were shot, one fatally, on Washington Boulevard in St. Andrew on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as 63-year-old Carlton Knight, a retired firefighter of Longville Park, Clarendon.
A man and a woman, both security officers, were injured.
About 9:30, the three individuals were travelling in a car which stopped at a traffic light at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Headley Avenue.
Another car drove up and the occupants opened fire, hitting the three persons.
They were taken to hospital where Mr. Knight was pronounced dead.
Senior Superintendent Kirk Ricketts, Commanding Officer for the St. Andrew South Police Division, told Radio Jamaica News that it's believed the victims were being trailed.
A motive has not been established for the attack.
