The Trelawny Municipal Corporation has said it is making progress in restoring order in Falmouth.

The municipal corporation launched an operation with the police two weeks ago to crackdown on illegal vending and dumping of garbage in Water Square.

Falmouth Mayor Colin Gager told Radio Jamaica News that since then, some vendors have been served with summonses to appear in court while others will get a second notice before court action is taken.

However, Mr. Gager noted that the town has improved since many of the vendors have gone back to the market and are cooperating.

He said another anti-vending operation will be carried out this week with the help of the police.
