Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Jamaica, with Rafael's impact being felt

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for Jamaica as Tropical Storm Rafael moves close to the southern coastline with heavy showers and strong gusty winds.
 
Flooding and landslides are already occurring in sections of the island.
 
At 4:00 a.m., the centre of Tropical Storm Rafael was located about 170 kilometres southwest of Kingston, 88 kilometres south of Treasure Beach and 130 kilometres southeast of Negril Point.
 
Maximum sustained winds are near 95 kilometres per hour with higher gusts. 
 
Rafael is forecast to become a hurricane in the northwestern Caribbean near the Cayman Islands with further strengthening before it makes landfall in Cuba.
