The police are searching for two persons of interest in connection with Sunday night's fatal shooting of a 17-year-old student on Water Street in Denham Town, Kingston.
Devenese Nelson, who lived on North Street in Kingston 14, was shot at an apartment on Water Street about 11:30 p.m.
Senior Superintendent Michael Phipps, head of the Kingston West Police, told Radio Jamaica News that the father of Devenese's child and the young man's uncle, Tevin Cross, who both live in the apartment, have not been seen since the shooting.
SSP Phipps is urging both men to report to the Denham Town Police Station by 6:00 p.m. Monday.
It's reported that residents of the apartment complex heard explosions and informed members of the security forces posted in the Zone of Special Operations in the area.
They found the partially nude body of the 17-year-old with a bullet wound to the head.
The senior cop says the police suspect that Devenese's murder is linked to a domestic dispute.
He disclosed that the couple was "having issues" and the police's Community Safety and Security branch spoke with them on several occasions, the last time being less than two weeks ago.
SSP Phillips said it was unfortunate that whatever dispute they were having resulted in this deadly incident.
