Norman Heywood, head of Security at UWI Mona
A male student was found dead this morning at a Hall of Residence at the Mona campus of the University of the West Indies.
UWI Mona Registrar Dr. Donovan Stanbury says it appears to have been a sudden death.
Norman Heywood, head of Security at the University of the West Indies, Mona, also told Radio Jamaica News that no foul play is suspected.
Mr. Heywood said the student was found lifeless in his room sometime after 9 o'clock this morning by a fellow student, who requested help from others and called the police.
The deceased's family has been notified.
Grief counselling is being provided for students.
