After months of delays and being at loggerheads, the Government and the Jamaica Confederation of Trade Unions (JCTU) appear to be heading towards a public sector wage deal for the 2017/2019 contract period.
This follows a meeting between the parties on Tuesday. The JCTU reported afterwards that it had received improved offers from the Finance Ministry.
While not divulging details, Helene Davis White, President of the Confederation, told RJR News that she was hoping public sector workers will view the offers favourably.
The Confederation has called its executive to a meeting on Wednesday to discuss the wage offers.
