Following a fire on Tuesday night at Westwood High School in Trelawny, arrangements are being made to facilitate students who will sit Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) examinations next week.

Karen Francis, Principal of Westwood High School, said the first written CSEC exam will be on Monday.

She said girls from grades 11 to 13 will return to the school on Sunday.

"We will house them in there dormitory but we probably have to do meals at the hostel here for them. We will not be able to facilitate all the students just now, (but) the board will meet and short term plans will be put in place for the rest of the school," she declared.

The fire, which started at 10:15 p.m. in the kitchen, spread to the dining room and a storeroom which were all destroyed.

The matron's quarters and a changing room were also destroyed by the blaze.

Boarding facilities at the all girls school, with a population of 776 students, were not threatened by the fire.

Classes have been cancelled for Wednesday.
