The student convicted of killing William Knibb Memorial High School student Khamal Hall has been sentenced to four years and ten months in prison.

The 17-year-old had earlier pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

The sentence was handed down today by judge Andrea Thomas in the St. James Circuit Court.

Hall, who was 16, was fatally stabbed in March in a dispute over a guard ring.

He was the goalkeeper for William Knibb's DaCosta Cup football team.

His mother, Natasha Roach, who was at court today, expressed disappointment with the sentence handed down to the teen who took her son's life.

"It nuh fair. But there is nothing we can do," she bemoaned.
