The Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) has finally confirmed the Radio Jamaica Sports report from two days ago that Jamaican sprint hurdler Rushelle Burton and American sprinter Tamara Clark have served four-month bans for the use of a prohibited method (IV infusion).
Burton and Clark were charged in relation to rule 2.2 of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) code, which deals with "possession of a prohibited substance or a prohibited method".
The report said that the athletes voluntarily admitted to the offence and were given the reduced sanction of four months under the WADA code.
