Arsenal outplay Chelsea to lift FA Cup

Arsenal won a record 14th FA Cup title following a 2-1 win over London rivals Chelsea in the final at Wembley on Saturday to clinch a spot in next season's Europa League.

In a final which was marred by injuries and cards, it was actually Chelsea who took the lead in just the 5th minute of play after some neat footwork from American Christian Pulisic.

The “Gunners” fought their way back into the contest and eventually won a penalty when Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was taken down in the box by Chelsea skipper Cesar Azpilicueta.

Aubameyang converted the resulting penalty in the 28th minute to draw the Gunners level.

Arsenal captain was on the double in the 67th minute with a silky finish which turned out to be the winner.

Chelsea finished the match with 10-men after Mateo Kovacic was sent off for a second yellow card in the 73rd minute.

The “Blues” also had a series of injuries as they lost Azpilicueta, Pulisic and Pedro throughout the course of the contest.
