Cycling coach Arlington Reid is hoping to pull the brakes on the Jamaica Cycling Federation (JCF) elections this Saturday, as he cries foul for nominees he says were rejected unconstitutionally.

Incumbent JCF president Dr Wayne Palmer will be unopposed this Saturday at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), as all prospective nominees were rejected.

Article 14.4 of the JCF constitution states that to be eligible for nomination, the challenger must be active in the sport for a minimum of one year.

According to Reid, a number of the persons that put their hat in the ring were eligible for nomination. Reid says the proper protocols that should govern the JCF election were not adhered to.

Reid was speaking on Hitz 92 FM's Sports grill on Thursday. Reid was also among the challengers that were rejected, as he was looking to go up against Palmer.
