Two time Olympic 100 metre champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce could win two awards at the inaugural Sports Gala Awards set for next month. Fraser-Pryce, who won the 200 metre event at this year's Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, is nominated in two categories: best female athlete and "change-maker". The 32 year old has been nominated along with her coach Stephen Francis who is among the candidates for the best coach.
More than forty athletes have been nominated in nine categories. The Awards Gala will be held on December 13 in Fort Lauderdale. Fraser-Pryce is also one of five athletes shortlisted for the IAAF Female Athlete of the Year Award.
