After narrowly missing the automatic qualification mark of 1 minute, 59.90 seconds at the national championships on Sunday, Chrisann Gordon-Powell has secured a spot in the women's 800m at the World Championships in Oregon based on her world ranking.
Gordon-Powell has a season's best of 1 minute, 59.52 seconds done in Nashville earlier this month before running 2 minutes, 00.35 seconds at the national championships on Sunday.
A number of other Jamaicans who missed out on the entry standard have also joined Powell in qualifying based on world ranking.
