Gregg and co-driver Dawes win Rally Trinidad

Kyle Gregg and co-driver Marcia Dawes have joined Jeffery Panton and co-driver Michael Fennell Jr, as the only competitors to win Rally Jamaica and Rally Trinidad in the same Caribbean calender year.The feat was achieved this past weekend. Two time Rally Jamaica champion Gregg and co-driver Dawes produced some clever driving in their Mitsubishi Evolution 9 to win ten out of the  seventeen stages to be crowned champions of Rally Trinidad on their first trip.

The Jamaican pair were involved in a ding dong battle with Trinidadian number one Stuart Johnson and Scott Sheppard who overturned with four stages remaining. Gregg and Dawes covered the 18 stages in one hour, 7 minutes and 33 seconds to win their first title outside of Jamaica .

Trinidadian Craig Sumair and Simon Rodriquez finished two minutes behind,while their compatriots Radj Persad and Schuravi Mallian were third. Meanwhile, Bobby Marshall and co-driver Michelle Laidlaw won the front wheel drive title after finishing fifth overall, posting 1 hour, 23 minutes and 31 seconds. The other three Jamaican team members were unable to finish the rally.
