Halledeen opens 2023 account at Thistledown

Jamaican jockey Robert "Hard Ball" Halledeen recorded his first win of the new season on Wednesday at Thistledown Racecourse in Ohio, United States.

Halledeen guided home the 8-5 favourite Latin Spice for Jamaican trainer Jason DaCosta in the 7th and penultimate event, a claiming contest over 6 furlongs on the dirt for a purse of $16,600.

Halledeen rode 20 winners on the US circuit last year.
