Jamaica qualify for squash competition at 2019 Pan Am Games

Jamaica's men's squash team were beaten 3-0 by Brazil in the consolation playoff of the team competition at the Pan American Squash Championships in the Cayman Islands on Friday. The team had earlier lost out on a place in the semi-final of the competition following a 2-0 loss to their Mexican counterparts.

The Jamaican team was in early trouble after individual silver medalist Chris Binnie lost 4-11, 7-11, 5-11 to Cesar Salazar and failed to recover with Lewis Planter also losing 4-11, 7-11, 3-11 to Alfredo Avila. The Jamaicans will play Argentina on Saturday at 11:15 am. Despite the loss, the Jamaicans qualified for next year's Pan Am Games by virtue of getting to the quarter-finals.
