US-based trainer Rohan Crichton captured his first trainer's title recently at Gulfstream Park West in Florida, becoming the second Jamaican to do so.
In a battle between Caribbean trainers, Crichton edged out defending champion, Barbadian Saffie Joseph Junior, 19-17 to win his first trainers' title. Crichton also won the owner's title with 6 winners.
Crichton who was honoured last year at the TOBA Triple Champions Awards Dinner, had 249 starts with 42 wins, 49 second place finishes and 30 third place finishes at both Gulfstream Park and Gulfstream Park West for stakes earnings of a little over US $1 million in 2020.
