JC and KC to decide Manning Cup crown

Jamaica College and Kingston College have secured their tickets to this season’s ISSA Manning Cup finalists after recording contrasting semi-final victories on Tuesday at the Stadium East Field.

Defending champions JC brushed aside former champions Charlie Smith 3-0 courtesy of goals from Dwight Merrick in the first half along with second half goals from Tarick Ximines and Giovanni Mittoo. This was the Old Hope Road-based school's seventh final in the last eight seasons.

Meanwhile, many time champions Kingston College joined their rivals in the final after a hard fought 4-2 win over 2019 beaten finalists St Andrew Technical High.

STATHS were 1-0 up through Omar Reid after six minutes, but that was cancelled out by Jaheem Johnson five minutes later.

Omar Laing put STATHS ahead once again in the 21st minute, but a superb second half performance from KC  turned the game around as they pumped in three goals in 16 minutes.

Renardo Burgher in the 59th, Luis Watson in the 68th and Christopher Pearson in the 75th, handed the North Street- based school the comfortable victory in the end. The final will be played on January 21.
