Tsetsi ‘Lights Out’ Davis was once again in weight problems at Tuesday afternoon's weigh-in at the Sure Time Medical Center for Wednesday's Wray & Nephew Contender Series fight against Dave Leblond at the Chinese Benevolent Headquarters. Davis tipped the scale at 161 pounds, seven more that the limit 154 pounds for the junior middleweight contest.
He was given two hours to shed the seven pounds and when he returned he weighed in at 156.2 pounds and the Canadian through trainer Patrice Trudeau, refused to accept the fight.
The 23 year old Leblond made a successful professional debut after scoring an unanimous decision win over Jackson Nguyen in their super-featherweight clash over 4 rounds. Leblond who is from Quebec, tipped the scale at 153 pounds.
The 39 year old Davis who has been to two Contender Series finals and four semi-finals, came back to the scale for a second time Tuesday afternoon and weighed one pound heavier than the stipulated 154. TVJ will have live coverage of Wednesday's fight starting at 9:30 pm.
