McLeod contemplating doubling up this season

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Denise Walters

National long jump champion Carey McLeod may soon take on double duties in the jumps for Jamaica in competitions, as he is thinking about making a return to the triple jump in preparing for the 2025 season.

McLeod says he recently started doing more triple jump training for the season ahead.

McLeod, who is no stranger to the event and doing both jumps at the same competitions, became one of two Jamaican men to qualify for both the long and triple jumps at the Tokyo Olympics held in 2021, while at the University of Tennessee.

He was also one of two athletes to qualify in both events at the Tokyo Olympics.
