Mona crush Waterford to make winning start to Manning Cup defence

Reigning champions Mona High swamped Waterford High 7-0  to kick off their title defence in the ISSA Manning Cup at the Montego Bay Sports Complex on Saturday. Carlton Brown notched a double with goals in the 5th and 37th minutes.

Mona also got goals from Savi-K Morton in the 31st and Robino Gordon in the 41st minute to go into the half time break with a 4-0 advantage. It was more of the same in the second half as Mona continued to pepper the Waterford goal.

Alex Suazo scored in the 46th minute, Kishane Gordon in the 67th and Denzel McKenzie in the 70th to complete the rout. The contest was the lone game in the Manning Cup on the opening day.
