Pack Plays scores convincing victory in St Cecelia Cup race

The 4-1 chance Pack Plays made most of the running to capture Saturday's feature event, the 11th running of the St Cecelia Cup, an Open Allowance contest for 3 year olds and up over 6 and a half furlongs at Caymanas Park.

Pack Plays who was ridden to victory by champion apprentice Shane Richardson for trainer Ricardo Mathie, took command with 5 furlongs to go and held on comfortably from the fast-finishing 2-1 second choice Inspire Force.  

The American-bred 4 year old dark brown colt covered the distance in 1 minute, 19.1, winning by a length and three quarters.

Former champion jockey Shane Ellis had a double on the programme. Racing continues on Monday with a 10-race card starting at noon.
