Powell fails to get nomination for JFF presidency

RJR Sports understands that Montego Bay United owner Orville Powell failed to meet Thursday's November 5 deadline to get the required four nominations to challenge incumbent Captain Horace Burrell for the presidency of the Jamaica Football Federation.

It’s understood that Powell only received one nomination while captain Burrell received 11 nominations. Powell's lone vote came from the St Ann Football Association.

Captain Burrell has only been challenged once for the presidency and that was in 2003 when he lost to Crenston Boxhill.

Meanwhile, RJR Sports understands that at least one of the vice presidents will lose his seat as under the new FIFA constituency,  the treasurer, in this case Gary Sinclair, must be a vice president.

The JFF voting congress will be held on December 20.
