Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell says he has no issues delaying his retirement from international cricket in order to play another T20 World Cup for the West Indies.
Russell had announced that he would call time on his international career, following the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean last June, but was asked by coach Daren Sammy to delay his retirement with a view of being part of the set-up for the 2026 event in India and Sri Lanka.
Russell who will be 38 at the time of the World Cup, says he sees where his presence in the team will be beneficial.
Meanwhile, Russell who was limited to only one appearance against England in the 5-match T20 series last November due to injury, says he expects to be back competitively by the middle of this month.
Russell featured in 12 T20 internationals for the West Indies in 2024 and was named alongside Nicholas Pooran in the espncricinfo T20 team of the year.
