In an incredible encounter laced with multiple records, the West Indies went down to South Africa by six wickets at Super Sport Park in Centurion on Sunday to leave their three match t20 series tied at 1-all. The West Indies made 258-5 and South Africa replied with 259-4.
The game was the first ever T20 International to aggregate 500 plus runs, while the 517 were also the most runs scored in all T20 cricket including domestic games.
The 81 boundaries by the two teams was also a new T20 record, bettering the 78 recorded during the Pakistan Super League game between Multan Sultans and Quetta Gladiators earlier this month.
The 35 sixes hit by both teams was also the highest for a T20 International and only two fewer than the most in any T20 contest.
The third and final game in the series will be played on Tuesday.
