Black Panther sequel sets box office record for November with US $330 million in ticket sales

The new Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film by Marvel Studios has set a November record in the United States and Canada by selling approximately US $330 million in tickets.

Crowds flocked to movie theaters across North America to watch the sequel to the 2018 Oscar-nominated blockbuster Black Panther.

The movie was ranked as the top-grossing Hollywood release in all markets.

The results provided a much-needed boost to movie theaters, which have struggled to return to pre-pandemic levels.

The original Black Panther film starring the late actor Chadwick Boseman as King T'Challa made history as the first superhero movie with a predominantly black cast.

It made more than US $1.3 billion at worldwide box offices and is the only superhero movie to be nominated for best picture at the Academy Awards.
