Denroy Morgan, reggae singer and Morgan Heritage patriarch, has died

Veteran reggae singer Bishop Denroy Morgan has died at age 76. 
 
The patriarch of the Grammy winning reggae group Morgan Heritage, died in an Atlanta hospital on Thursday, after a short period of illness.
 
He was surrounded by close family members.
 
In a statement announcing his death, the family thanked supporters for their well wishes, and asked for continued prayers and privacy as they work on healing.
 
Morgan gained international success with the hit single I'll Do Anything For You and the album of the same name in 1981. 
 
His deal with RCA Records in 1984, reportedly makes him the first Jamaican recording artiste to be signed to a major record label. 
 
Morgan was scheduled to release a new album, Divine Destiny, on March 22.
