Production company fined following fatal shooting on 'Rust' movie set

New Mexico workplace safety regulators on Wednesday issued the maximum possible fine against a film production company for firearms safety failures on the set of doomed movie Rust.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was fatally shot in October last year by actor and producer Alec Baldwin.

New Mexico's Occupational Health and Safety Bureau said Rust Movie Productions must pay $139,793.

The agency said there were a range of safety failures on the set of the Western movie, which Baldwin was producing and starring in.

A spokesperson for Rust Movie Productions says they disagree with the findings and plan to appeal.
