The net asset value of the National Insurance Scheme (NIS) jumped by 17% to $227 billion during the 2024-2025 financial year.
This is compared with $194 billion during the previous fiscal year.
NIS contributions also rose sharply by 9% to $52.2 billion during the last fiscal year.
Social Security Minister Pearnel Charles Jr. says increased contributions and sound investment decisions have made it possible for the ministry to increase the payout's detentioners and other beneficiaries of the NIS.
