Legendary R&B singer Whitney Houston has become the first Black artiste in history to have three diamond-certified albums.
The announcement comes a week ahead of her induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The Recording Industry Association of America on Wednesday said Houston's second album, had officially reached diamond status, a certification once given to records that sold 10 million copies but now takes into account digital streaming as well.
It's the third of Houston's albums to reach eight-digit sales, the first two being her debut album, Whitney Houston, and the soundtrack she recorded for the film The Bodyguard.
The late icon, who died in 2012, has joined the billion views club, after her 1992 hit I Will Always Love You reached the milestone on YouTube.
The accomplishment marks the first solo artiste entry from the 1990s to earn the feat.
