$249 million allocated to boost agriculture resilience

Finance and the Public Service Minister Fayval Williams says $249 million has been allocated to enhance the resilience of the agricultural sector and coastal areas in next year's budget.

The agricultural sector accounts for 8% of GDP and 250,000 jobs directly.

Additionally, the agricultural sector, which accounts for 18% of GDP and over 300,000 jobs when combined with the manufacturing sector, fell by 12.50% during the third quarter of last year and 13% during the fourth quarter due mainly to the effects of Hurricane Beryl.
