4.2% more spent on importation of Fuels & Lubricants from January to April

Jamaica spent 4.2 per cent more money on the importation of Fuels and Lubricants from January to April this year.
 
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica says these imports were valued at US$662.9 million, compared with the $636.4 million spent in the corresponding period in 2023.
 
Imports of Other Fuels and Lubricants increased by 4.6 per cent to US$379.5 million.
 
Motor Spirits imports, used in automobile maintenance were valued at US$151.2 million, this being 21.8 per cent higher than the $124.1 million spent from January to April last year.
 
The sum spent on Crude Oil however decreased by 11.6 per cent, to US$132.2 million.
