Barbados to receive more IMF support

A delegation from the International Monetary Fund yesterday ended a nine-day visit to Barbados, reaching a staff-level agreement with Bridgetown on the completion of the third review of the Extended Fund Facility and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility arrangement.

The IMF's executive board is expected to consider both reviews in June.

The Washington-based financial institution said Barbados' economy has recovered to pre-pandemic levels, with 12 consecutive quarters of growth, driven by a rebound in tourism and related sectors.
