The Issa owned Breezes Runaway Bay hotel has been sold to insurance giant Sagicor. In a statement Tuesday afternoon John Issa, Chairman of SuperClubs, and Richard Byles, President and CEO of Sagicor Life Jamaica, announced the sale of Breezes Runaway Bay to Sagicor.
Sagicor currently operates the Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort and Spa. The statement said SuperClubs and Sagicor are working together to ensure a smooth transition of ownership with no interruption to service. The property will be rebranded as The Jewel Runaway Bay Resort effective June 1.
Mr. Byles indicated that Sagicor will renovate and expand the hotel. The employees of the hotel will all receive redundancy packages from Breezes and be available for re-hire by the new operators.
