Cayman seeking to strengthen international financial services relationships

Premier of The Cayman Islands Andre Ebanks is traveling to Trinidad & Tobago and New York City this week as part of efforts to strengthen the territory's international financial services relationships.

Mr. Ebanks, who is also Financial Services Minister, will first attend meetings linked to the 62nd Caribbean Financial Action Task Force Plenary and working group sessions in Port of Spain.

The discussions will focus on anti-money laundering measures, counter-terrorism financing, international cooperation, and emerging financial crime trends.

From Wednesday through Saturday, the Premier will continue to New York for engagements with US financial industry stakeholders.

Officials say the trip forms part of the government's broader strategy to reinforce Cayman’s reputation as a well-regulated global financial center and to promote the jurisdiction's financial services industry in key international markets.
