Financial Secretary Darlene Morrison says public sector workers will receive the promised $80,000 one-off, non-taxable grant in October.
The grant applies to workers who were employed in the public sector between April 2025 and March 31, 2026.
In a circular to permanent secretaries, heads of departments and chief executives of public sector agencies, Ms. Morrison said the salary rates in effect from April 1, 2024, remained applicable up to March 31 this year.
She said the new salary rates, which took effect April 1 this year, will be paid in November, or as soon as possible afterwards.
The Financial Secretary said retroactive payments covering April 1 to October 31 this year will become due and payable in December.
She has instructed ministries, departments and agencies to submit details of the grant, the new salary rates and the related retroactive payments to the Ministry of Finance's Public Expenditure Division by September 30, to facilitate payment.
