CDB Supporting Regional Food Security Thrust and Agri-Trade in Guyana

The Barbados-based Caribbean Development Bank says it is supporting agriculture and rural development as well as business competitiveness with two new projects in Guyana targeting national and regional food security.

The region's premier financial institution said the projects are tools with which it is assisting Guyana, the region's food basket, to improve not only productivity and market linkages but also aspects of CARICOM's Twenty-five by 2025 Initiative.

The initiative is aimed at reducing extra-regional agri-food imports by 25 percent by 2025.
