DBJ now has highest credit rating among development banks in English-speaking Caribbean

The Development Bank of Jamaica now has the highest credit rating of all the development banks in the English-speaking Caribbean.

This follows the decision by the Caribbean Information and Credit Services Limited (CariCRIS) to once again reaffirm the bank's strong credit ratings.

The agency recently maintained the bank's Cari A- local currency rating and its AA- foreign currency rating on the Jamaican national scale.

The ratings include a two-notch upgrade, reflecting the agency's view that the government will continue to support the bank should the need arise.

CariCRIS) also says the outlook for the DBJ is stable, based on its strong profitability and solid capitalization over the next 12 to 15 months.

Dr. David Lowe, Managing Director of the DBJ, says the achievement is a significant milestone in the bank's growth trajectory.
