One financial analyst is predicting that the effects of Hurricane Dean will have a severe setback for the local economy.
Chairman of Today's Money Limited, Orville Johnson, says the economy which was still recovering from Hurricane Ivan in 2004 will likely reel under the high damage costs incurred by most sectors.
"Although it is too early to tell, coffee even if the berries are not blown off you have things like access to the farm and all that so this is not looking good for the economy," said Mr. Johnson.
"We just have to wait on the report and hope that some of the mitigation plans will minimize the loss in the agriculture sector but this is definitely setback for us," he said.
