Just a week after Lime slashed its cross network rates, Digicel has followed suit. Barry O'Brien CEO of Digicel, announced on Thursday that his company has slashed rates for its prepaid customers to call the Lime network, to J$2.99, mirroring Limes rate to call the Digicel network.
“So for J$2.99 per minute with per second billing you can call Digicel or any other network in Jamaica. All these plans come into effect at 12 midnight tonight. That’s our J$2.99. Then we have some customers who want to talk a little bit longer and want to be rewarded for talking a little longer, so we have also now introduced J$2.49 plan. This is not per minute billing, actually,” said Mr O’Brien. The J$2.49 cents plan applies only to calls on its own network.
The company has also enhanced four other plans, including its J$2.89 plan, which was launched last year in a bid to retain customers.
