Output from Jamaica's
export sector continues to increase.
According to figures from the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) domestic exports for the January to July period earned the country US$1.3 billion.
This represented a US$214 million or 18 per cent increase over the corresponding period last year.
Traditional exports during the seven months were valued at UAS$968 million, an increase of US$160 million or just under 20 per cent.
Despite the increase Jamaica still recorded a massive trade deficit.
As was reported by this programme Tuesday, Jamaica suffered a US$2.1 billion deficit during the seven months.
