Marlene Street Forrest, Managing Director, Jamaica Stock Exchange
The Jamaica Stock Exchange has highlighted an increasing investor interest in the Jamaican stock market.
Managing Director at the JSE Marlene Street Forrest, in an interview with Radio Jamaica News, confirmed that more Jamaicans are looking to invest generally.
While noting that these "green sprouts" of interest are being seen, she added that growth is "always a gradual process."
She added however that improved interest rate conditions would generate even more interest.
In that regard, she noted that "with the knowledge that investors have in the market now, persons are just waiting a little while, biding their time in coming back to market..."
