The local tourism sector has started feeling the effects of the disruption in air travel in northern Europe due to heavy snow.
Thousands of flights have been cancelled because of snow and ice, leaving travellers stranded.
Few flights are leaving London Heathrow, Europe's busiest airport, and one third of flights are cancelled in major hubs like Paris and Frankfurt.
The Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) says the ripple effect has reached the island.
President of the Association, Wayne Cummings, says some arrivals and departures have been impacted.
“Yes, we have been affected but it hasn’t been devastating. We have been in communication with our tour operators and the airlines and as soon as the flights are able to leave they do come in,”
“Some people are delayed in terms of their arrival, others are delayed in terms of their departure but the airlines are doing what they can, it is not as bad as when we had the challenges with the ash cloud,” Mr. Cummings said.
