Jamaica earned more from the export of goods for the first half of this year.
According to the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN), earnings amounted to US$789 million for the January to June period, a 28 per cent improvement over the same period in 2020.
But the country's import bill increased to $2.7 billion - 15 per cent above the same period last year.
The increase was mainly due to higher costs for fuel and raw material.
