Jamaica score first victory at CWI Rising Stars U19 Championship

Jamaica defeated Guyana by 5 runs to record their first victory in three games, as action continued on Wednesday in the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Rising Stars Men's Under-19 50-over Championship in St Kitts.

Brian Barnes with a top score of 68, Vitel Lawes an unbeaten 42 and Pajay Nelson 40, led Jamaica to 260 all out in 46.5 overs.

Golcharran Chulai claimed 2-43 and Parmeshwar Ram 2-59. The Guyanese in reply, were dismissed for 255 in 49.3 overs.

Romeo Deonarine made 55, Pampersaud Ramnauth 39, Sachin Balgobin 32, Jonathan van Lange 32 and Salim Khan 31.

Bowling for Jamaica, Kevaundre Virgo bagged 4-37 and Brian Barnes 2-35. Jamaica had lost their first two games to the United States and the Windward Islands.
