Chief Executive Officer of MBJ Airports, Shane Munroe, says Jamaica is set to welcome a wave of new international flights this winter and into 2026.
He notes that this is a clear signal that there is still global confidence in the island's tourist industry, despite the disruption caused by Hurricane Melissa.
Speaking with 250 travel advisers at the Sandals 'Back to Jamaica' Town Hall meeting recently, Mr. Munroe pointed out that a number of new routes will be launched this month.
He revealed that Edelweiss will be launching its first A350 direct service from Zurich, Switzerland. He added that WestJet began weekly flights from Quebec, Canada recently, while Wingo and Flair Airlines will be launching new services on December 18 from Bogotá in Colombia and Toronto in Canada, respectively.
Mr. Munroe also revealed that Breeze Airways will add two strategic gateways next year - Tampa in February, and Raleigh, North Carolina in March 2026.
