The Bank of Jamaica has recorded a big increase in year to date profit.
The BoJ's balance sheet as at June 27 shows a profit of just over one billion dollars.
This was up from 244 million dollars a month ago and coincided with the slide in the value of the Jamaican dollar against its US counterpart.
In the meantime, the local currency continue to lose value.
The average selling rate for the US currency is now eight cents higher at 89 Jamaican dollars 8 cents.
The Canadian is going for 86 dollars 90 cents and the pound Sterling for 138 dollars 16 cents.
