JPS chief Steve Berberich resigns

President and CEO of the Jamaica Public Service Company (JPS) Steve Berberich has resigned.

Berberich, who was appointed in April last year, disclosed the decision in an email sent to employees Friday.

Berberich said his decision follows a recent death in his family and other family related matters.

In the interim, Damian Obiglio, the current board chair and former JPS CEO, will assume the acting CEO position until the board finds a replacement.

Berberich said he will remain for few more weeks to ensure a smooth transition.

At the same time, Berberich believes Obiglio is a capable leader and has asked the employees to give him their full support.
