The Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) has announced that customers who sell the Jamaica Public Service (JPS) electricity under the net billing arrangement must be paid a rate of $12.76 for each kilowatt hour sold.
That determination was made public on Wednesday.
Under net billing rules, a JPS customer with a renewable energy facility such as solar panels or a wind turbine, can sell electricity to the power company at periods when the energy is not being used by the customer.
The earnings from that are used to offset the cost of electricity bought from the JPS.
