JPS's new CHP plant helping power CB Group facility

The Jamaica Public Service Company says it recently spent at US$17 million to build out a 10-megawatt environmentally friendly combined heat and power (CHP) plant, which is now being used to reduce the cost of energy at the CB Group Limited's poultry processing facility at Hill Run in St. Catherine.

Director of Business Development at JPS, Diane Nugent, says the US$17 million investment made in the plant by the company played a pivotal role in boosting the energy reliability, efficiency and sustainability of the CB Group, which just spent a billion dollars to expand its facility.

Nugent also stressed that it was a demonstration of what partnerships between the JPS and the business community can achieve.
